Our colleague and YP Member, Dr. Tanya Gachovska has participated in the 2015 IEEE International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IHTC), held in Ottawa, Canada, from May 31 to June 4, 2015. The conference theme was "supporting communities toward resilience." The conference was focused on two key areas: humanitarian applications of technologies in disaster mitigation, relief, and recovery; and empowering communities to overcome adversity and achieve sustainable development.

During the conference, she has presented three papers entitled:

• The Effect of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) and Ultrasoud (US) Technologies on the Extraction of Phycopiliproteins from Arthrospira Platensis.
• Bi-directional cllc converter front-end for off-grid battery inverters.
• Pre-Planting Pulsed Electric Field Treatment of Potato Tubers.
