8th international & interdisciplinary conference "Vanguard scientific instruments in management ' 2015" (VSIM:15) - 2015-10-01 14:11:46

The scientific conference "Vanguard scientific instruments in management ' 2015" (VSIM:15), was held from 09 to 13 September 2013 in the Study & Relaxation Center of UNWE at the town of Ravda. There were participating 65 researchers, including 44 young researchers. There were representatives of 25 universities, research institutes, business organizations and government agencies from Bulgaria and abroad. There were 69 presentations, including 15 in the poster session and 3 via video conferencing (Sofia, Israel, Canada), grouped in 7 topical discussions:

• Transhumanism, longevity, cybernetics: 9 papers, total time 7 h. 00 min. (around 47 minutes per paper on average)
• Data science: 8 papers, total time 3 h. 20 min. (around 25 minutes per paper on average)
• Teaching in 21 century: active methods: 6 papers, total time 3 h. 30 min. (around 35 minutes per paper on average)
• Human capital: 4 papers, total time 1 h. 40 min. (around 25 minutes per paper on average)
• Financial Engineering Solutions (third annual meeting): 15 papers, total time 5 h. 50 min. (around 24 minutes per paper on average)
• Public policies: 6 papers, total time 3 h. 45 min. (around 38 minutes per paper on average)
• Current issues in business management: 6 papers, total time 2 h. 15 min. (around 23 minutes per paper on average)

А workshop on ”Adaptive Z-score tests for training purposes” was also held. The pride of our conference is that we did not even once suspend a presentation and we did not cut short any discussion. It turns out that the most intriguing topic was Transhumanism, Longevity, Cybernetics which became obvious even during the discussions, which included 2 teleconferences abroad. It is also worth noticing the third annual meeting of our new initiative Financial Engineering Solutions, as well as the active involvement of the co-organizers of IEEE Young Professionals Bulgaria и Data Science Society.
